GLEs1.2.1. Analyze how systems function, including the inputs, outputs, transfers, transformations, and feedback of a system and its subsystems.  1.2.2. Analyze energy transfers and transformations within a system, including energy conservation.

Lesson:  Complete Pulley Lab 3 on efficiency.  [Last class students built fixed and moveable pulleys]  Build block and tackle with 3 supporting ropes and one with 5 supporting ropes.  For each pulley, measure and record:  effort force and distance, and resistance force when you are lifting the resistance a distance of 12 inches every time.

Assignment:  Students copy down all 4 pulley diagrams on clean sheet and calculate work (in) and work (out) and efficiency for every pulley diagram.
