Objectives:
(1) Introduce ionic compounds and their naming.
Lesson:
(1) Teach students how to name simple ionic compounds made of monovalent cation (metal) and monatomic anion (non-metal). ex. MgI = magnesium iodide (2) ionic compound = metal + non-metal (3) all metals in group 1,2 and Al, Ag and Zn are monovalent (3) add vocab to list (see list).
