Objectives:
(1) Identify which atoms will ionize and which will share (2) Lewis dot diagrams - also compare Lewis dot diagrams to Bohr diagrams.
Lesson:
(1) Look at diagrams of periodic table and locate families. Draw Bohr diagrams of characteristic atoms. (2) Teach ionizing/sharing and how to identify which is which. (3) Draw Lewis dot diagrams and compare to Bohr diagrams.
Assignment:
(1) Students to draw Lewis dot diagrams of elements #1 - 20. Please arrange your drawings in the shape of the periodic table.
