Daily Objectives: (1) Prepare students for lab activities; (2) Introduce chemistry and demonstrate with wet chemicals (to wet their appetite!)
Lesson: (1) Do inventory for lab benches. Students use a shared Google Doc, make their own copy, then check their inventory in their lab bench to make sure they have all the equipment. (2) Students exchange their chemistry book for a thinner version in the library. (D block did this; F block needs to do this still.) (3) Begin teaching about "Chemistry." Define chemistry as "studying the characteristics and interactions, of material and energy." Explain we study matter for: (a) interest, (b) practical application (technology), and (c) for safety.
