DAILY OBJECTIVES:
(1) Do 3 "Absolute zero" labs in class to illustrate changes in phase and energy of molecules according to mean T. (2) Radiation demo?
LESSON:
D block: (1) Introduce students to Kinetic Theory labs, "Absolute Zero" #1 - 2. (2) Review basic procedure. (3) Remind students to tie back hair when using open flames. (4) Teach students how to measure invisible gas volume captured in a tube using water, graduated cylinder and arithmetic. (6) Do "Absolute Zero" lab #1 and #2, collect data. (7) Complete written questions for two labs and graph by next period.
F block: (1) Introduce students to Kinetic Theory labs, "Absolute Zero" #1 - 3. (2) Review basic procedure. (3) Remind students to tie back hair when using open flames. (4) Remind students to wear safety glasses when suddenly cooling glass ("Absolute Zero #3) (5) Teach students how to measure invisible gas volume captured in a tube. (6) Do three "Absolute Zero" labs, collect data. (7) Complete written questions for three labs and graph by next period.
ASSIGNMENT:
D block: (1) Complete answers to written questions (including data collection) for "Absolute Zero" lab #1 and #2 on physical paper by next period. You will, in other words, hand in one piece of paper with data and answers and you will also hand in the graph. See comments on labs (on this website) for additional clarification.
