"Discrepant events" are something that appears different than you expected or produces different results than you expected (there is a discrepancy between expectation and observation). These can be powerful learning opportunities!
"Wow-mes" are something that makes you say, "Neat!" or "Wow!" It causes the observer to think more deeply and ask great questions about the concept. Some of the wow-mes below are works in progress, as you will see. I will compile a few here.
