At GSIS we have a lot of opportunities. I want to start something like Toledo's Science Olympiad here for gifted and interested kids, for the same reasons Chuck got Science Team off the ground in Toledo. February 12, 2008, after Lunar new year, will be the kick off! Beginning the Tuesday after Lunar New Year, we will have an after school activity centered around building for the fun of it. The basic goal will be Rube Goldberg type constructions that will demonstrate many energy transfers. Students in grade 6 -9 are welcome to participate. Students may sign up, but the group will be capped at 12 students the first time, some slots will be by invitation only. I hope this leads toward developing a science and engineering competition at GSIS. I would like to have one that included local, Korean schools as well as English speaking school in our "KAIAC" organization. Thanks Chuck Caley (former Toledo Science Olympiad coach) for the inspiration to do cool things that are fun. You're the best, Chuck!
